Manor House tube station

Southeastern subway entrance

Harringay Stadium

The home team was known as the Canaries, then the Tigers and finally as the Harringay Racers. Australian Vic Duggan was the top star from 1947 to 1950. When he retired Split Waterman took over as Racers star rider.[8]

Harringay Arena

Harringay Arena as a concert Hall is staggering. The finicky hate it. That is an initial point in its favour. For those whose hearts are liberal and Whitmanesque, the current London Music Festival is moving as well as mammoth. Never before have I seen a multitude lie so quiescently in the hollow of a composer's hand. The Albert Hall is a restless and limited thing by comparison.

City Road tube station

The low number of passengers using the station meant that the extension of the platform tunnels could not be justified on financial grounds, and the station remained closed when the line was reopened in 1924. The platforms were removed and the lift shaft was converted for use as a ventilation shaft. City Road was the only twin tunnel station of the C&SLR not to be reconstructed. During World War II, the station was converted for use as an air-raid shelter.[1]
