St Mary Moorfields is a Roman Catholic church in the City of London. The present building, located at 4-5 Eldon Street, was opened in 1903. However, the foundation had a long history prior to this. A chapel was opened in 1686, but was suspended in 1689, in the aftermath of the Revolution of 1688.
The Circle line, Hammersmith & City line, Metropolitan line and First Capital Connect's former Thameslink platforms are in a cut and cover section. When the line from King's Cross was quadrupled, the new route from there to Moorgate became known as the City Widened Lines.
It was refurbished in 2000 which increased the height to 127 metres (417 ft) and increased the available floor space. The designer for the refurbishment was Sheppard Robson.[2] It was renamed CityPoint after its refurbishment. Its anchor tenant is Simmons & Simmons, a law firm.
The Level 2 Gallery is a smaller gallery located on the north side of the building which houses exhibitions of cutting edge contemporary art. Its exhibitions normally run for 2 ? 3 months.[17]
