The security of your belonging is a general point during you whole move.You have to be sure that there will not be something missing or damaged,even stolen .You have to keep an eye to your packages all the time.If you are not using a full service moving company you have to handle with the loading and discharging of all the boxes.You will need some friends to help you.Try to convey the boxes in groups.Leave one of your friends near the moving truck to look for the rest boxes and another one at your new home.If there is no free space for parking in front of your home and the moving van  is parked at the close section you can even ask two of your friends to stay there.Have in mind that the truck driver is not responsible for the security of your boxes.When you finish with the transfer of your stuff and go back to take the rest part check the door lock of your new home.It if is not the one you can count on  you can hire a locksmith to install a new one ,or even second.After you move in check for the security system at your new place.If there is no security systen available you can contact a specialist and  install a new one.
